SISTER PROJECTS_HORIZON- CL4 – 2022- TWIN-TRANSITION- 01 – 04

Our project MASTERLY together with AGILEHAND, SMARTHANDLE, and HARTU project represent a cohesive consortium of sister projects with a shared mission—to conduct cutting-edge research and development in intelligent workpiece handling across entire production lines. By leveraging their diversity and distinctive characteristics, these projects collectively strive to create efficient, flexible, reconfigurable, and data-driven agile factories.
The handling of products and components plays a pivotal role in the manufacturing industry, where optimization leads to heightened productivity while minimizing production costs and time. The contemporary landscape, characterized by the increasing complexity and customization of products, along with a shift towards a circular economy, necessitates the establishment of novel assembly and disassembly lines capable of handling a diverse array of workpieces. Consequently, there is a growing demand for innovative smart automated handling systems.

All projects secured funding through the Horizon Europe HORIZON-CL4-2022-TWIN-TRANSITION-01-04 – Intelligent work piece handling in a full production line (Made in Europe Partnership) (RIA).

They share a common objective and vision. Collaborating synergistically, these initiatives pool their resources and expertise, forming an influential powerhouse that raises awareness and engages stakeholders and the wider public in the pursuit of sustainable manufacturing practices. This collaborative endeavor not only enhances the visibility of each project’s significant research outcomes but also fortifies the bonds and cooperation among various EU-funded research initiatives. Beyond individual accomplishments, the Cluster emerges as a driving force propelling us toward a more sustainable and advanced manufacturing future.

Hybrid Production Systems (HPS) Cluster

The Hybrid Productions System (HPS) cluster consists of over 31 EU funded projects (FP7, H2020, Horizon Europe) dealing with hybrid production.

It promotes knowledge and experience sharing, aiming to define the roadmap for Hybrid Production Systems.

The Cluster covers several thematic areas including flexible, agile and reconfigurable production, human centric production, digital automation and cooperating robots. Starting from March 2023, tour project MASTERLY became a partner in the HPS cluster. The official presentation of the MASTERLY project took place at the European Robotics Forum 2023 (ERF2023), the most influential meeting of the robotics community in Europe.
